Nicola Decrestina1989 - Soraga (TN)
He attended for 5 years the art institute “G. Soraperra” in Pozza di Fassa, where he discovered and soon developed a passion for the “faceres”, the wooden masks of the Fassa Valley carnival, where Soraga is -traditionally and historically- one of the most active places.
Carpenter by profession, Nicola carves his masks not only following the traditional models but creating a personal imaginary world that finds subjects in the actuality and in his poetic interiority.
He became member of the “Mascherai Alpini” in 2012.
The type of wood he generally uses for his masks is the Stone Pine.
