BATTISTA PEDUZZI – 1947 – Schignano (CO)
Battista Peduzzi began carving as a self-taught person when he was young, imitating the old mask carvers in “Val d’Intelci”, now disappeared. He is a lover of the traditional Carnival in Schignano, in which he has been participating with ornate and beautiful masks over the years. He earnestly promotes to continue the local Carnival traditions and its wooden masks. Over the last years, he has committed in handing down his carving skills to a group of a young men, who may carry on this tradition.
Battista Peduzzi joined the “Mascherai Alpini” Association in 2005.
He mainly uses Walnut wood for his masks.
